Annual Treasure Rally
For many years, the Almere/Weesp organization has ended the season just before the summer holidays with an annual treasure rally, which brings participants to different parts of Holland.
For instance, one location is Amsterdam and its surroundings, which offers a pleasant panoramic ride alongside some of the many Jewish places of interest in and around the Dutch capital. The finish is always in Almere, where everyone gathers for a copious barbecue. Prizes are given and there is an opportunity to socialize under the often lukewarm Dutch summer sun.
Everyone wishes each other a good summer break and holiday since we will not see each other for about two months.
This annual event employs a lot of volunteers: those who plan the treasure rally as well as those who man the starting point, serve coffee and cookies, take photographs, write down all the personal details, take payment and then prepare the evening barbeque event. Until now we have always had about 10 volunteers to help put on this event, and because of them it has always been successful.
